Independence Middle School student earns national title at inaugural NCFL Middle School Nationals
Lily Edwards, an eighth grader at Independence Middle School, earned national recognition in March at the inaugural National Catholic Forensic League Middle School Nationals, winning a national title in dramatic performance and placing sixth in prose reading. She also competed the same weekend in a local freshman/sophomore tournament at Seton LaSalle Catholic High School.
Bethel Park junior awarded Summer Study Trip to Germany
Bethel Park High School junior Adele Stamenov earned a prestigious, all-expenses-paid summer study trip to Germany after placing in the 95th percentile on the 2026 National German Exam and being selected from more than 12,000 participants nationwide as one of 36 students. She will spend three weeks abroad living with a host family, attending school and cultural programs, continuing a tradition of excellence in the school’s German program.
Bethel Park to host Arts Fest & STEAM Expo April 25
Bethel Park High School will host its annual Arts Fest & STEAM Expo on April 25, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m., featuring interactive activities and student showcases for all ages. Highlights include screen printing with student-designed artwork, a student art gallery, live demonstrations, and a variety of hands-on attractions and entertainment.
Edwards wins national title at inaugural NCFL Middle School Nationals
Independence Middle School student Lily Edwards earned national honors at the first-ever NCFL Middle School Nationals at Seton LaSalle High School, placing sixth in prose reading and first in dramatic performance. Coach Katie Clifford praised Edwards’ impact on Bethel Park’s forensics program and said she is expected to help grow and inspire future participation at the high school level.
Bethel Park indoor track & field team caps record season with national performances
The Bethel Park indoor track and field team capped a standout season with record-setting performances at the state and national levels, including a school-record 11 athletes competing at the Adidas National Championships. The Hawks earned multiple top-10 national finishes, set school records, and showcased both strong senior leadership and promising young talent under retiring coach Scott Staranko.
