Black Hawks Athletics

A CHAMPIONSHIP TRADITION
WPIAL Champions, PIAA Champions, Collegiate Athletes and More

Bethel Park has enjoyed a tremendous amount of athletic success over the years.

At Bethel Park, we believe a dynamic athletic program is essential for student-athletes' educational development. Designed to enhance students' interests and talents, our program teaches life lessons in sportsmanship, teamwork, and competitive drive. Athletes learn to win with humility and lose with grace.

Goals of the Athletic Program:

  • Foster work ethic and perseverance in young athletes.
  • Develop positive citizenship traits.

Founded over a century ago, our athletic program has grown significantly and is now integral to Bethel Park's tradition. While we compete to win, our primary focus is on maintaining our rigorous academic standards and meeting PIAA eligibility requirements.

We celebrate student-athletes' success but reject "winning at any cost" and pressures that compromise sportsmanship and mental health. Our program, seen as a scholastic activity, emphasizes character-building traits such as self-sacrifice, honesty, loyalty, hard work, dedication, reliability, and responsibility.

Bethel Park firmly believes that these attributes, learned through athletic participation, prepare students for lifelong success, as evidenced by the achievements of our alumni.
