Veteran Bethel Park municipality officer Keith Jones sworn in as new BPHS school police officer

A familiar face in the Bethel Park community is now patrolling the halls of Bethel Park High School.

Keith Jones was recently sworn in as the new school police officer at Bethel Park High School by Allegheny County Judge Arnold Klein, bringing with him more than two decades of law enforcement experience to the district he has long served.

Jones spent 26 years with the Bethel Park Police Department, where he held a variety of roles before transitioning to the Bethel Park School District. His deep familiarity with the community makes him a natural fit for the position, which requires building trust with students, staff, and families while maintaining a safe learning environment.

School police officers play a critical role in today's educational settings, serving as both a security presence and a resource for students navigating difficult situations. Jones brings a wealth of experience and community relationships to the role that few could match. He joins experienced officers Chris Gawlas and John Remark as the school district's law enforcement arm.
