Neil Armstrong Middle School’s fifth and sixth-grade orchestras performed their Spring Strings concert on Monday, May 11, 2026, under the direction of Mr. Rick Lang and Ms. Sarah Palermo.
The Fifth-Grade Orchestra opened the program with three selections: “Into the Sky!” by Brian Balmages, “Chins and Pins” by Richard Meyer, and “Double Trouble” by Lauren Bernofsky.
Following a brief stage transition, the Sixth-Grade Orchestra performed “Celtic Sunrise” and “Viking,” both by Soon Hee Newbold, and “Fiddles on Fire” by Mark Williams.
The concert closed with the world premiere of “NAMS Final Mission,” an original composition written by Robert Sheffer specifically for the occasion.
