IMS students put their problem-solving skills to the test in Valentine’s Day Challenge

Students at Independence Middle School (IMS) put their problem-solving skills to the test during a Valentine’s Day Challenge that invited participants to tackle logic and equation-based questions created by their peers.

A total of 79 students submitted responses. All participants received a light-up heart necklace and were invited to a prize reveal on Feb. 13. Sixteen students earned perfect scores of 8 out of 8 and were entered into a raffle to win $10 Dunkin' and Starbucks gift cards.

Students who scored a perfect 8 out of 8 were Prajal Adhikari, Wyatt Archer, Bradley Bench, Liliana Brucker, Adithya Chimata, Parker Danley, Rose Doman, Isaac Harmon, Michele Hoang, Oivia Lke, Aria Loeffert, Abby Mahr, Maggie Metti, Lukah Peterson, Brielle Schafer, and Adeline Smeltz.

The challenge problems were created by IMS students Bradley Bench, Caleb Erbrecht, Connor Graf, Juliette Hall, Ryan Pushic, Emily Sabanovic, Hannah Strock, and Hannah Watkins.

The event was sponsored by the IMS PTSO.
