A 50-student Bethel Park delegation in grades 4-6 recently took part in a one-day educational adventure that tested their teamwork, critical thinking, and creativity as they navigated interactive museum exhibits and completed fast-paced challenges.
The fourth-grade team — Nancy Block of William Penn Elementary, Annabelle Harvey of Memorial Elementary, Julia Leary and Claire Dolcich of Abraham Lincoln Elementary, and Anna Mack of Washington Elementary — earned 2nd place in the fourth- and fifth-grade competition. They solved problems and answered questions in several themed exhibits, including the Hall of Shadows, where they identified objects from silhouettes; a sports history exhibit focused on Pittsburgh trivia, such as the Immaculate Reception; the Heinz exhibit, highlighting the company’s products and history; and A-Z Pittsburgh, which matched iconic local figures and landmarks to letters of the alphabet.
The event provided students a hands-on way to explore regional history while building collaboration and problem-solving skills.
