Bethel Park Board Launches Search for Next Superintendent

Following the announcement that Superintendent Dr. James Walsh will retire at the end of the 2024–2025 school year, the Bethel Park Board of School Directors has begun the process of selecting the district’s next superintendent.

The district’s solicitor, Rebecca Heaton Hall of Weiss Burkardt Kramer LLC (WBK), which specializes in superintendent searches, will lead the search.

“The Board is committed to conducting a thorough and inclusive search process to identify a visionary leader who will continue to move Bethel Park forward,” said President James Modrak. “Selecting the next superintendent is one of the board's most important responsibilities, and we look forward to engaging our community throughout this process.”

Community engagement will be a key part of the search. The district will conduct stakeholder surveys and a public forum to gather input on Bethel Park schools' strengths, needs, and priorities. This feedback will help shape the next superintendent's leadership profile.

The results of the community engagement process will be shared with the Board, along with a draft leadership profile developed by WBK.

Additional details about the superintendent search and opportunities for community participation will be announced in the coming weeks.
