October Rotary Student of the Month: Caroline Zelt

Bethel Park High School proudly recognizes Caroline Zelt as its October 2025 Rotary Student of the Month, honoring her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to service.

A senior with a 4.605 weighted GPA, Zelt is known for her intellect, integrity, and drive. A three-time Grand Concours Silver Medalist on the National French Exam, she was also the 2024 recipient of the prestigious Harvard Book Award, recognizing exceptional scholarship, character, and leadership. She has earned distinction as an AP Quarterly Champion and was previously named Crumbl Cookies Student of the Month.

Zelt’s leadership extends beyond the classroom. She serves as Secretary of the Student Government Association, President of Game Changers Student Ministry, and was the Co-President of the Homecoming Committee. She is also an active member of National Honor Society, Girls in Engineering, and Société Nationale Française.

Dedicated to serving others, Zelt has volunteered with the Carnegie Science Center, South Hills Eye Associates, and Ligonier Camp and Conference Center. A longtime dancer, she shares her passion for the arts as a student ballet teacher at the Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh.

“Working at Camp Ligonier was one of my favorite experiences,” Zelt said. “With no phones and surrounded by complete strangers, I learned how to truly connect with others. Working with girls ages 8 to 14 was so rewarding—they’re full of questions and energy, and it felt meaningful to mentor them. You quickly learn to put the campers’ needs ahead of your own, and that’s where the real growth happens.”

A former pre-professional ballet dancer, Zelt now channels her discipline and precision into cheerleading as a member of both the varsity and competitive teams. “Growing up in ballet taught me discipline in every aspect of my life,” she said. “The constant pursuit of perfection pushed me to focus on precision, patience, and attention to detail in everything I do.”

Zelt will represent Bethel Park as a 2026 Cinderella Ball Debutante. Her interests span science, writing, marine and space exploration, and mystery literature. She plans to pursue a career in patent law, combining her love of STEM with her talent for advocacy.

Balancing academic rigor, service, and leadership, Caroline Zelt exemplifies the values of a Bethel Park Black Hawk—driven, compassionate, and committed to excellence.
