Bethel Park School District will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Independence Middle School on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at 5 p.m. The celebration will coincide with the school’s Open House, which begins at 6 p.m.
The program will feature remarks from district officials, school board members, and project partners, followed by a symbolic ribbon-cutting using red (symbolizing celebration), white (growth), and blue (community) ribbons. Contractors will then formally pass the school keys to district leaders.
Highlights include:
- IMS students leading tours
- Before-and-after displays throughout the building
- A project timeline presentation by Hayes Design Group
- Refreshments in the cafeteria
The $55 million, four-phase renovation began in January 2022 and spanned over three years. Independence Middle School serves grades 7 and 8 and will expand to include grade 6 in September 2026.
