On July 15, the Bethel Park School District will officially transition to a new Student Information System (SIS), selecting Focus School Software to replace its long-standing eSchoolPlus platform.
The decision follows a comprehensive evaluation process involving four SIS vendors. District leaders selected Focus for its modern, secure platform; flexible design; and proven success migrating districts from legacy systems. The district prioritized a platform that would improve usability and communication for staff, students, and families.
“After a thorough evaluation and selection process, we chose Focus School Software as our new SIS because of its unparalleled ability to adapt to our district’s unique needs and processes,” said Christopher Bolin, Director of Technology & Innovation at Bethel Park School District. “It ensures a seamless and efficient experience for our staff, students, and families.”
Key features of the Focus SIS include:
- A modern, user-friendly interface for parents, students, and staff
- Integrated modules for Special Education, Career and Technical Education (CTE), and more
- A dedicated implementation team to support a smooth rollout
- Scalable infrastructure that allows for long-term adaptability
With the new system, which goes live on July 15, parents and guardians must create a new parent portal account in Focus. Step-by-step instructions will be available on the district’s website and the Focus login page to help with account setup.
Focus School Software CEO Andrew Schmadeke welcomed the partnership: “We are honored to partner with Bethel Park School District. Their commitment to a responsive, district-aligned SIS reflects Focus's very purpose—to deliver powerful, flexible technology that empowers schools.”
Focus is expected to offer an improved user experience and enhanced tools to keep families connected and engaged in their child’s education.
For questions on the new SIS, families are encouraged to contact their child’s school building or visit the district’s website at www.bpsd.org.
