High School Musical

The Bethel Park High School musical is an annual rite of Spring open to students in grades 9-12. The musical, divided into two productions, allows students to participate in a full-scale musical.
Students may participate by auditioning for an acting part in the musical or working behind the scenes on one of the crews doing sets, lights, sound, props, costumes, and other areas needed to put on a high-quality show. Student musicians are also encouraged to sign up for pit orchestra positions. Auditions are generally held in the first couple of weeks in November. Crew sign-ups are done anytime. The musical rehearses from January until the production opens in the Spring.

We also need lots of parent volunteers to make the musical a success.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC: MARCH 12-15
This year's Spring musical, "The Sound of Music," will run from March 12 to 15, 2025, at 7 p.m. each night.

The Sound of Music Synopsis:

A tuneful, heartwarming story, it is based on the real-life story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world's best-known concert groups in the era immediately preceding World War II. In the original motion picture, Julie Andrews played the role of Maria, the tomboyish postulant at an Austrian abbey who becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children and brings a new love of life and music into the home. Maria ultimately wins over the children and their stern father through her love of music and kindhearted nature. As Austria falls under Nazi control, the family faces difficult decisions about their future.

TICKETS: $10 (PLUS FEES)
All tickets will go on sale starting on March 1, 2025, and can be purchased online via credit card, including handling fees.

Bethel Park is again partnering with eServices Technology. This South Hills-based company has developed a more convenient way for guests to purchase tickets to the school district’s live events. All seating for this year's musical is reserved at $10 per ticket, plus fees, and tickets will be sold electronically through the school district’s website.

Electronic tickets will be sold based on availability, including on the event night. As with many concerts and professional sporting events nowadays, no physical tickets will be sold in advance or at the door.

The district has employed the electronic ticketing system for multiple events, including musicals, starting in 2024.
