Middle School Musical

The Independence Middle School musical is an annual rite of Spring open to students in grades 7-8.

Students may participate by auditioning for an acting part in the musical or working behind the scenes on one of the crews doing sets, lights, sound, props, costumes, or other areas needed to put on a high-quality show. Auditions are generally held in the first couple of weeks in November. Crew sign-ups are done anytime. The musical rehearses from January until the production opens in the Spring.

We also need lots of parent volunteers to make the musical a success.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR: MARCH 7-9

This year's IMS Spring musical, "High School Musical JR," will run from March 7-9, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. each night.

High School Musical JR. Synopsis:
It’s the first day after winter break at East High. The Jocks, Brainiacs, Thespians, and Skater Dudes all find their cliques. Basketball team captain and resident jock, Troy, discovers that the brainy Gabriella, a girl he met singing karaoke on his ski trip, has just enrolled at East High. The couple causes an upheaval when they decide to audition for the high school musical. Although many students resent the threat posed to the "status quo," Troy and Gabriella’s alliance might just open the door for others to shine as well.

TICKETS: $8 (PLUS FEES)
All tickets can be purchased in advance via credit card and include handling fees.

Bethel Park is partnering with South Hills-based eServices Technology, which has developed a more convenient way for guests to purchase tickets to the school district’s live events. All seating for this year's IMS musical is reserved at $8 per ticket, plus fees, and will be sold electronically through the school district’s website.

The electronic tickets will be sold based on availability, including the event night. As with many concerts and professional sporting events these days, no physical tickets will be sold in advance or in person at the door.

The district already employs the electronic ticketing system for its varsity sporting events. It has also used the electronic ticketing system for the Bethel Park High School musical and multiple other district events.
