High School Musical

The Bethel Park High School musical is an annual rite of Spring open to students in grades 9-12. The musical, divided into two productions, allows students to participate in a full-scale musical.
Students may participate by auditioning for an acting part in the musical or working behind the scenes on one of the crews doing sets, lights, sound, props, costumes, or other areas needed to put on a high-quality show. Auditions are generally held in the first couple of weeks in November. Crew sign-ups are done anytime. The musical rehearses from January until the production opens in the Spring.

We also need lots of parent volunteers to make the musical a success.

BIG FISH: MARCH 13-16

This year's Spring musical, "Big Fish," will run from March 13-16, 2024, at 7 p.m. each night.

Big Fish Synopsis:
Edward Bloom has lived a full and fantastical life, populated by witches, giants, and mermaids, marked by true love that stops time in its tracks and framed by heroics that push the limits of believability. His adult son, Will, is no longer amused by his father’s fantastical tales, insisting on a rational rather than a fantastical account of one’s life. When Edward’s health declines and Will learns that he and his wife, Josephine, will have a son, Will decides to find out his father’s “true” life story, once and for all. Big Fish is a heartfelt, powerful, and magical musical about fathers, sons, and the stories we use to define our identities. With spine-tinglingly beautiful music, Big Fish is a magnificent “big fish” of a tale- spectacular, fantastical, and overflowing with love.
TICKETS: $10 (PLUS FEES)
All tickets can be purchased in advance via credit card and include handling fees.

Bethel Park is partnering with South Hills-based eServices Technology, which has developed a more convenient way for guests to purchase tickets to the school district’s live events. All seating for this year's musical is reserved at $10 per ticket, plus fees, and will be sold electronically through the school district’s website.

The electronic tickets will be sold based on availability, including the event night. As with many concerts and professional sporting events these days, no physical tickets will be sold in advance or in person at the door.

The district already employs the electronic ticketing system for its varsity sporting events. It has also used the electronic ticketing system for the Independence Middle School musical and multiple other district events.
