Employee Requirements

All persons must complete the following requirements in order to be considered eligible for employment with the Bethel Park School District:
  • Teacher Application (include transcripts with application)
  • Application for Employment
  • Act 34 Pennsylvania Criminal History Record Check 
  • Act 151 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance 
  • Act 114 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI fingerprinting) 
    • The Pennsylvania Department of Education has partnered with IDEMIA to provide a secure capture and transmission of applicants’ fingerprints at IdentoGO Centers. IdentoGO Centers are located throughout Pennsylvania.
    • Visit the IdentoGO website to register online.
      • The Service Code for PDE School Districts should be 1KG6XN – verify at the top of the page that it states PDE-School Districts.
      • The Service Code for PDE Volunteers should be 1KG6ZJ – verify at the top of the page that it states PDE Volunteer.
    • PLEASE NOTE: If an applicant proceeds with the fingerprint process under the incorrect code, the pre-enrollment and/or results cannot be transferred to another state agency and the applicant will have to start the process over and pay for the background check again.
    • Once you have the code, you must register prior to going to the IdentoGO Center to have your fingerprints taken.
    • The cost to obtain the FBI Fingerprint clearance is $22.60 and this will provide an unofficial copy of the Criminal History Record to the applicant.
    • After registration and payment, the applicant should proceed to the fingerprint site of their choice for fingerprinting. IdentoGO Centers and hours of operation can be found at uenroll.identogo.com.
  • Pre-Employment Sexual Abuse/Misconduct Disclosure (Act 168) 
  • Pre-Employment Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form (Act 24) 
  • MANDATORY 3-part Act 126 Training
    1.  You must complete the mandatory Pennsylvania Department of Education's training on your own and submit a certificate of completion to Anthony Piscioneri. The course is available on the Pennsylvania Department of Education’s SAS Portal at http://pdesas.org. If you do not have an account, click on “Register for an Account” and once your account is set up, click on the yellow box in the top right-hand corner with your name in it. Then click on “PD Center” and then “Course Catalog/Registration.” The course is listed under the “Self-Paced” tab. Select “Act 126” in the drop down “Course Option” box. There is no cost to take the online course. All participants will receive a certificate of completion and that certificate needs to be submitted to Dana Walker.  Please retain a copy of the certificate for your own records.
     
    2.  You must complete the online course, "Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse: Mandated and Permissive Reporting in Pennsylvania Online Training at https://www.reportabusepa.pitt.edu/  Register by clicking on "Registration" in the upper left-hand corner.  Then, follow the directions to complete the required information and submit.  All participants will receive a certificate of completion, which needs to be submitted to Dana Walker.  Please retain a copy of the certificate for your own records.
     
    3.  You will also need to review Bethel Park School District Policies #806 and #824 and sign a form stating that you read and understand the policies.  The form can be accessed on the link below.  The signed form needs to be submitted to Anthony Piscioneri.  Please retain a copy of the form for your records. 
     
    The Child Welfare Law (PA Act 126) requires all employees and school district personnel to complete mandatory training on both child abuse recognition and reporting.
