Earlier this month, Lincoln Elementary School's third and fourth grade students who met their AR goal for the third nine-week marking quarter attended the "AR Breakfast with the Principal.
Principal Jay Johnson said that the AR breakfasts are some of his favorite school year events because of what they represent.
"I'm super proud of you because reading all those books is difficult. It takes some level of commitment," he said.
The kids had a lot of fun eating their breakfast, listening to music, and cheering on all their friends as they received their reading certificates and rewards.
Mrs. Milana Popovic, the school's librarian, said the students read 8,684 books during the past nine weeks!
The deadline for the final AR reading period will be May 19. Earlier this semester, Kindergarten became the final grade to enter the AR program. The final AR celebration of reading will be on May 24.
Here is a list of the students who reached the highest points this semester in their assigned homeroom.
