Student Drop-Off/Pick-Up Procedures
Black Hawk Drive Closure Infogram

In an effort to create a safer school environment, beginning with the 2018-2019 school year, there will be a change to how students are dropped off and picked up at the High School by Parents/Guardians.

There are now three approved locations for drop off and pick up of students by Parents/Guardians: the Spencer YMCA (new location), Purkey Field and the Athletic Entrance.  You will no longer be able to drop off/pick up your student in front of the High School in the circle, because Black Hawk Drive will be closed during school hours.  The only exception to this rule is for our school buses.

Please be advised Black Hawk Drive will be closed to all thru-traffic daily from 7 AM to 2:45 PM.  The Bethel Park Police Department will be posting signs at the campus entrance at both ends of Black Hawk Drive explaining that thru-traffic will be prohibited during the school day and that violators will be cited by the Bethel Park Police.

If you enter Black Hawk Drive from Church Road, please drop your student off in the YMCA parking lot, turn around, and exit Black Hawk Drive onto Church Road.  Students will then walk the sidewalk along Black Hawk Drive to enter the school.

If you enter Black Hawk Drive from Broad Street, go through the Stadium Parking Lot, drop your student off at the Athletic Entrance, proceed through the Stadium Parking Lot and exit Black Hawk Drive onto Broad Street.  You will not be able to continue onto Black Hawk Drive and exit at the opposite end of where you entered because thru-traffic will not be able to enter into the circle in front of the High School.

If you need to pick your student up during the school day, please enter the campus either from Broad Street, through the Stadium parking lot and park in the Athletic Circle or enter off Church Road and park in the lot across the street from the High School and wait for your student.  Once you have picked up your student, please exit campus the same way that you entered.  You will no longer be able to idle in front of the school in the circle to wait on your student.

If you need to visit the High School during the school day, you can enter campus off Church Road; park in the lot across the street from the High School and enter the Main Doors.  If you are visiting the Athletic Department to purchase tickets for sporting events, please enter Black Hawk off Broad Street, park in the Stadium Parking lot and enter the Athletic Entrance.

These new rules have been established with input from the Bethel Park Police Department to eliminate traffic in front of the school during the school day in an effort to keep our students, employees and school as safe as possible.  Violators will be cited by the Bethel Park Police Department.

We acknowledge these procedures will require an adjustment on everyone’s part, but we thank you for obeying the rules and making the necessary adjustments to ensure everyone’s safety.

Thank you and have a SAFE school year!
