Bethel Park High School has been selected to receive the National School Blood Drive Award from the Association of Donor Relations Professionals in recognition of exceptional commitment to establishing blood donation as a priority among students.

The award is given annually to a college, university or high school.  Bethel Park is the first Pennsylvania school to receive this recognition.

For the past 13 years, Bethel Park High School students have been conducting multiple blood drives each year at the high school, under the direction of the Principals Advisory Council of Students.  This year DECA students have also gotten involved in the organization of the drives and recruitment of donors.

The award will be presented to BPHS Principal Dr. Zeb Jansante at ADRP’s national awards ceremony in Phoenix in May.

Congratulations to students Jessica Abraham, Tia Kean, Olivia Vituccio, Lily Zeminski, Marissa Christenson and Hunter Dorfner,  as well as Principal Dr. Jansante, and teachers Emily Smoller and Maria Christenson for their efforts to promote this award-winning, life saving initiative this school year.
