Third Graders Make Holiday Cards For Hospice Patients

William Penn Third Graders in Mrs. DiIorio’s and Ms. Serafini’s rooms worked together to make 140 holiday cards that were distributed to the patients under the care of Gallagher Hospice.

The cards were the idea of students Adriyana Hairston and Hazel McGregor. Adriyana’s grandfather is former Bethel Park School Director and current Bethel Park Councilman Dr. Tim Campbell, Medical Director at Gallagher, who was pleasantly surprised to learn that these two students were thinking about others during the holidays.

Dr. Campbell visited Penn to present Certificates of Appreciation to both classrooms and to talk to the students about how much their gesture of kindness would mean to those who received the cards.

Thank you, students, for brightening the holidays for those who need it.
