Washington Elementary School celebrated Veterans Day by rolling out the red carpet to thank Veterans for their service and sacrifice.
The mornign began with a special breakfast in the faculty lunch room, followed by a performance by the students of patriotic songs, poems and readings.
Veterans were assigned to specific classrooms, where they read the book, The Story of Mister Rogers and His Neighborhood: You Are My Friend to the students and talked with them about their experiences in the military.
The students also made a special construction paper mosaic American flag, which was proudly displayed outside the cafeteria, so the Veterans could enjoy it.
