Three Bethel Park High School students have been recognized as the September Students of the Month in their respective programs by the Steel Center for Career and Technical Education.

The honorees included senior, Anabel Franzmann (Advertising & Design); and juniors, Abigail Winterhalter (Health Assistant) and Max Helmich (Culinary Arts).

Each month, Steel Center’s very best students are recognized for their consistently high achievement and outstanding overall performance. The recognition is meant to acknowledge the students’ unwavering commitment to their career and technical education as demonstrated by their outstanding achievement.

Franzmann loves the Advertising & Design program because it allows her to be creative. “I love photography and graphic design and my program allows me develop my skills in both areas,” she said.  The senior, who plans to attend Point Park University where she will double-major in Graphic Design and Marketing & Professional Sales, says she is very grateful to Steel Center for all of the opportunities it has provided her.

Winterhalter hopes the Health Assistant program eventually leads her to become a NICU nurse. She has always been interested in the medical field and that interest was heightened when her cousin was born with a serious medical condition that caused him to be in the hospital for the first six months of his life.

Helmich is really excelling in the Culinary Arts program. Max, who learned to cook from his mother and grandmother, says he just loves making food, especially seafood.  Helmich says the best part of the Culinary Arts program at Steel Center is that he is constantly experimenting and learning new techniques.
