Meucci Honored by AIU, Pirates

The Pittsburgh Pirates recognized Franklin Elementary School fourth grade teacher, Mrs. KD Meucci as an All-Star Teacher in an on-field ceremony held just before their June 8, 2021 game versus the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Mrs. Meucci was one of 18 Pittsburgh-area teachers selected to receive the honor, which actually came this time last year, but had to be rescheduled due to COVID-19 restrictions.  In addition to her VIP Day treatment, Meucci also received a $100 Visa gift card as well as a $1,000 donation from the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Grable Foundation and Chevron to be used in her classroom.
Mrs. Meucci was nominated for the honor by her school principal, Mrs, Teresa Doumont, who described how Mrs. Meucci, “Uses technology in her classroom to make learning fun and innovative for her students.” Mrs. Doumont also lauded Mrs. Meucci as a life-long learner who imparts the importance of continuous learning to her students.

Some of Mrs. Meucci's students and their families also attended the game to show their support for one of their beloved teachers.
