Five Bethel Park High School students have been recognized as the November Students of the Month in their respective programs by the Steel Center for Career and Technical Education.

The honorees include senior Mallory Davey (Advertising & Design), juniors Naomi Nass (Cosmetology) and Ben Smith (Carpentry), and sophomores Anthony Bonidie (Culinary Arts) and Torey Rauch (Veterinary Assistant).

Each month, Steel Center’s very best students are recognized for their consistently high achievement and outstanding overall performance. The recognition is meant to acknowledge the students’ unwavering commitment to their career and technical education as demonstrated by their outstanding achievement.

Davey loves the Advertising Design program because it allows her to explore her creative side.  “The software is easy to use and that allows me to take an idea and execute it through that program.”

Nass, who may one day pursue a career in special effects makeup, loves the Cosmetology program and the hands-on opportunities it affords her. For his part, Smith likes the hands-on experience his Carpentry program gives him.  “I have been around it since I was a little kid and I have always wanted to be a carpenter,” he said.

Bonidie enjoys the Culinary Arts program.   “You get to learn real world skills and it is very different than my high school classes, which are mostly theoretical.”

Rauch hopes to become a vet tech and this is the first step in that process.  “I have always had the desire to save and protect animals and this program puts me on the track to do just that,” she said.
