Fourth Graders Have Fun With Holiday STEAM Activities

Franklin Fourth Graders in Mrs. Meucci's and Mrs. Luzader's room had fun participating in Holiday STEAM-themed activities!
This year the students were divided into small groups to work on five activities, including making a parachute out of coffee filters and cup cake papers to enable a Santa figurine to safely land after being dropped off a ladder; using popsicle sticks and Play Dough to build a shelf for the Elf on a Shelf; building as tall of a Christmas tree as possible out of green plastic drinking cups; and making tree ornaments.  New this year was a holiday-themed Makey Station.
By working in pairs within the group, the students were able to collaborate, bounce ideas off one another and figure out how to correct things when their attempts did not succeed as planned.
It was a great way to end the year!  Please click here to see some photos from Mrs. Meucci's classroom.
