GOLD Night Was The Biggest Ever!

The Independence Middle School PTO held its annual GOLD Night for IMS Eighth Grade Girls on Friday, January 25 and it was the most well-attended GOLD Night to date!
GOLD is an acronym for Girls Only Leadership Development and the evening is designed to help eighth grade girls transition into life as a Bethel Park High School student next fall.  The evening is packed with lots of activities, including games, music, food and information sessions about topics such as what to expect as a high school student, how to get a part-time job and dating tips.
Helping to lead the sessions are a group of Bethel Park High School students called the TLC, short for Teen Leadership Corp.  They do a great job serving as mentors to the eighth graders.
It was a great night of information and fun!  Thanks to the IMS PTSO for working hard to make this event possible!  Please click here to see some photos from GOLD Night, including the much-anticipated dodge ball game, officiated by Principal Mr. Muench!
