Five Bethel Park Elementary Students Recognized In WQED Writer's Contest

Five Bethel Park Elementary Students were recognized for their outstanding writing in the 2019 WQED Writer's Contest!
Congratulations to:
  • Lincoln Kindergarten Student Jack Ford -- First Place for his story, "The Accidental Car Thief"
  • Franklin Fourth Grader Adele Stamenov -- First Place for her story, "No Horn" 
  • Lincoln First Grader Alexis King -- Second Place for her story, "The Land Of Everything Sweet"
  • Franklin Third Grader Sydney Kellander -- Second Place for her story, The Attack Of The Great Hairy Hoogilee"
  • Lincoln Second Grade Student Olivia Anderson  -- Third Place for her story, "Delilah's Deer Away"
The students were presented their awards at  a Winners Celebration which was held for all of the Grade Level Finalists at WQED's Fred Rogers Studio, where they were awarded prizes, including the opportunity to record their winning story for broadcast on iQKidsRadio.org and featured on Saturday Light Brigade Radio in the summer.  K-3 students’ stories were made into an original puppet play and students in Grades 4-5 had their stories turned into music videos by Pittsburgh Puppet Works.
