Students Celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday By Reading

Washington Elementary students joined elementary students district-wide to celebrate Dr. Seuss’ birthday on Read Across America Day by doing what he would want them to do—read!

For the eighth year, Washington welcomed the IMS Readers to their school. The IMS Readers are Independence Middle School Student Council students who visit the District’s elementary schools every year to read to the students and talk to them about the importance of reading. They are great reading role models for the students.
The Washington students really get into the day, coming to school dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including the Cat in the Hat, Thing 1 and Thing 2, Sam I Am, and even the Lorax!
