Eight Independence Middle School students had the opportunity to participate in teh Fluid Power Challenge, held in March at the Carpenters Training Center.
At the competition, the students used a machine that they designed, built and tested to use fluid power (hydraulics) to move a cyclinder into a designated area as many times as possible in one minute.  While the students did not win the competition, they learned a great deal.
Participating were Nick Allan, Dom DePasquale, Gawin Hsu, Mason Miller, Katie Krol-Schaus Riswanth Sundaresh, Daniel Torres and Jeon Varghese.
The students were prepared for this competition by IMS Science Teacher Jennifer Evans.
