The Lincoln Loggers are hard at work, training for the Pittsburgh Marathon's Kids of Steel Marathon in May!
To get the students excited about training, Derrik Shoffner from the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Marathon paid a visit to Lincoln to play some games with the students to get them up and moving! A favorite of the students was a human "Rock, Paper, Scissors," complete with prizes!
Lincoln Paraprofessionals participated in the festivities by performing a skit to demonstrate the correct way to walk in the hallways during indoor recess, so nobody runs into a fire extinguisher box in the hall.
Students either walk or run inside or outside, weather permitting, every Friday during recess, with their final in-school Lincoln Logger session scheduled for Friday, May 3. By then the students will have completed 25 miles, and will run their 26th and final marathon mile on May 4 at the Pittsburgh Kids of Steel Marathon.
Good luck to all of this year's Lincoln Loggers and thanks to Mrs. DeGregorio
for coordinating! Please click here
