Students Share French Classroom Presentations

Independence Middle School French I students in Mrs. Aristegui’s room are studying six French speaking countries/provinces this year—Quebec, Western France, Martinique, Mauritius, Ivory Coast and Morocco.

Students were assigned one of the countries and they worked together in small groups to learn about this French-speaking region. The first presentation they did was a general overview of the area.
Their second assignment was to research schools, and do a presentation of what a classroom would look like. The presentations included a model of the classroom and a comparison of the similarities and differences between the French-speaking classroom and an American classroom.
Future presentations throughout the year will have the students looking at family life in their assigned country as well as a making comparison of things students their age like to do.
