William Penn students enthusiastically embraced a Piggy Bank fundraising program coordinated by the PTO, raising $2,082.66 in a week-long activity that culminated on the 100th Day of School.
A piggy bank was placed in each Penn classroom and students were challenged to raise $100, with the winning grade earning a lunchtime pizza party, courtesy of the PTO.
Second Grade were the winners—raising $662.80--and they earned the right to enjoy pizza and cookies in their classrooms.
To thank the rest of the student body, fresh popped popcorn was served in the cafeteria during lunch period on the day of the pizza party.
The PTO plans to use the money for assemblies and the purchase of a new public address system.
