Recent Bethel Park High School alumna, Anna Rosemeier ’22 has been named the 2022 winner of the $1,000 Jennifer A. Morgan Memorial Scholarship.
The fund, which was created at The Pittsburgh Foundation, provides scholarships to graduating seniors who are pursuing a degree in nursing or health-related professions and who have demonstrated sound academic achievement throughout high school, participated in a variety of school and community activities, and demonstrated an ability to succeed in their educational goals.
The well-rounded Rosemeier is the ideal recipient of this honor, having recently graduated with a 4.42 GPA. Anna was also the secretary of the Student Government, a member of the National Honor Society and the Team Leadership Corps, the co-President of the High School French Club and she helped to spearhead the homecoming committee.
A talented performer, Rosemeier was a head Bethette in the Bethel Park High School marching band and a member of the prestigious Top 21 Chorus. Additionally, Rosemeier had one of the lead roles in last spring’s musical, playing the evil stepmother in Bethel Park’s production of “Cinderella.”
The scholarship Rosemeier received was named after Jennifer Morgan, a Bethel Park resident who graduated from Baldwin High School in 1973, and who served as a maternity ward nurse before eventually becoming a case manager and utilization specialist for families.
Although she was not a smoker, Jenny who was adored by friends, colleagues and patients alike, was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2009 and lost her courageous battle on May 28, 2011. Her husband, James, established this scholarship in her name with the understanding that it be granted to individuals who most closely emulate the spirit of Jenny by demonstrating similar character traits of selflessness, compassion, and dedication to the wellness of others.
Anna, who will attend Seton Hill University in Greensburg and plans to be a Physician’s Assistant, is one three children born to Randy and Heather Rosemeier
