As of October 1, 2022, and through the end of the 2022-2023 school year, all students enrolled in the Bethel Park School District will be eligible to receive a free breakfast at school regardless of their socioeconomic status.
Governor Wolf announced earlier this month that his administration has created a universal free breakfast meals program to replace a similar federal initiative that expired at the start of this school year. According to the state, for a breakfast to be free, it must consist of three items, including a fruit or a fruit juice. A la carte items are not a part of the free breakfast program. Also, students need not pre-order their meals.
Please note this change is only applicable to the School Breakfast Program in the 2022-2023 school year and does not affect a student’s eligibility status for lunch (free, reduced, and paid, respectively). The district is also
still accepting applications for the Free and Reduced Lunch program.
