The Bethel Park Rotary Club’s December Student of the Month is Bethel Park High School senior
Jack Hartman. He was recently recognized at a small luncheon at
The Garden Restaurant [4912 Gardenville Road, Pittsburgh, PA, 15236].
Hartman carries a weighted GPA of 4.11 and is a member of the Bethel Park High School chapter of the National Honor Society. He also competes for the Hawks boys volleyball team and is a member of the Interact club.
Jack has a strong interest in marketing and has been a member of the school’s DECA club since his freshman year. Hartman has won his District III event all four years. Last year, he placed third in the statewide competition and competed in the international competition at Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta in April.
“DECA was the best decision I’ve ever made, and I honestly don’t know where I’d be without it,” said Hartman. “It has played a major role in my high school career and has also been a factor in my college search.”
Hartman intends to major in Supply Chain Management at Penn State’s University Park campus.
“I’m just really interested in learning how a product needed in, say, Pittsburgh gets there from halfway around the world in China,” he said. “I just find the whole process to be completely fascinating.”
Jack is the only child of Mark and Diane Hartman.
