Neil Armstrong Middle School Sixth Grader Clairessa George had the opportunity to teach a STEAM-themed lesson on the educational uses of slime to education students at Carlow University.
Clairessa worked with Dr. Rae Ann Hirsch, Program Director of Early Childhood Education at Carlow, to present the lesson to students in her Primary Curriculum Course at the university.  The lesson centered around the educational uses of slime in the classroom.
Clairessa organized the materials needed for the lesson, as well as showed the college students how to make the slime.  Afterward, she guided the students through some hands-on activities that showed them how they could incorporate slime into their lesson plans.  Additionally, Clairessa discussed the scientific properties and types of slime, showed some You Tube videos that showed how slime could be used to build curiosity, teamwork, language skills, sensory integration and anxiety/coping skills for students.
Great job, Clairessa!
