Independence Middle School students who are in the FCCLA (Family Career and Community Leaders of America) Club celebrated their friendship and promoted family with a delicious Friendsgiving Feast.
The students stayed after school to enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving feast in the school cafeteria.  IMS Family and Consumer Science Teacher Mrs. Fontana baked the turkey and the students brought in the side dishes including potatoes, stuffing, sweet potato casserole, soup, vegetables, rolls and pumpkin pie!
The students also made a large construction paper turkey and on the turkey's feathers, they wrote something for which they are thankful.  The majority of the students wrote that they thankful for their families and their friends.
In addition, the students brought in non-perishable food items which will be donated to two needy Bethel Park families to make their Thanksgiving a memorable one.
