COVID-19 Information

The Bethel Park School District is continually monitoring the latest news about the spread of coronavirus and working to ensure the health and safety of our entire community. Below is our COVID-19 dashboard, which is updated daily with the information refreshing on the hour. We have also linked the COVID-19 dashboards for the Allegheny County Health Department, the Pennsylvania Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization.

Should someone in your family begin to show some symptoms commonly associated with coronavirus, please send your emails to this address: [email protected]In the meantime, here are some answers to some frequently asked COVID-19 questions.

Active Case Counts Towards Building Closure

In Pennsylvania, when a county is in the substantial community risk designation; when a school reaches any of the below case thresholds, the school building is to close consistent with PADOH’s procedures following a case of COVID-19 in a school building.

  • 900 + (High School) 6-10 cases close for 2-3 days; 11+ close for up to 5 days

  • 500 - 899  (Middle Schools) 4-6 cases close for 2-3 days; 7+ close for up to 5 days

  • 499 or less  (Elementary Schools) 2-4 cases close for 1-2 days; 5+ close for up to 5 days

Formerly, we had a graphic in this space detailing the case counts at the respective buildings.  However, the guidance provided by the state of Pennsylvania on March 30, 2021, rendered that process moot.  Going forward, when Bethel Park School District reaches any of the above thresholds, that building will be immediately closed for deep cleaning, and the families of students in those buildings will be promptly notified.

Also, each Bethel Park School District building undergoes deep cleaning every Friday, which resets that building's case count to zero.
