Message From The Principal
Welcome
to William Penn Elementary School!
It is with great pride and
excitement that I am joining the William Penn
Elementary School Team as the new building
Principal. What a joy to be able to stay in the
wonderful community of Bethel Park and work in a new
capacity. During my eight years as the Assistant
Principal of Independence Middle School, I have come
to know about the outstanding achievements of the
staff, students, and families of William Penn
Elementary School. I look forward to continued
success in the days ahead and am dedicated to
contributing whatever is necessary to maintain the
proud William Penn tradition.
As Principal, I believe
that my primary responsibility is to maintain
William Penn’s reputation as a place which provides
a nurturing and challenging atmosphere where
students are consistently progressing towards
maximizing their potential and growing everyday
under the watchful eye of our caring and
enthusiastic staff. In order to meet
that goal, I look forward to working with the
William Penn community to create a learning environment which
is constantly focused on a challenging curriculum,
student achievement, effective/appropriate
discipline, technology, safety, pleasant facilities,
and parent/community involvement.
William Penn students are
held to high expectations and routinely perform
above the state medians in math and reading on the
PSSA. I will be working diligently to continue the
success of the students and staff which has
established William Penn as one of the
most-accomplished elementary schools in the South
Hills area.
Importantly, I have always
been very proud of the partnership we have with our
Bethel Park parents through the various PTO
organizations. The William Penn PTO is a very
active and integral part of the school’s success,
and I encourage you to volunteer your time and
enthusiasm whenever possible. Whether it’s
attending a PTO meeting, volunteering for your
child’s activities, or participating in the many
after-school programs sponsored by the PTO, no act
of participation is ever too small!
Lastly, the staff of
William Penn knows that you are also committed to
your child’s excellence. Please take the time to
spend fifteen minutes per day with your child in a
one-to-one situation. Discuss the school day, read
together, complete an activity—whatever fits your
family’s lifestyle. Just being involved will
continually let your child know how much you care
for him/her.
I am looking forward to
meeting all of you during the upcoming school year.
If you find yourself at the school, please remember
to stop by and introduce yourself. You may also
