Washington Welcomes Sara Pennypacker

Washington was pleased to welcome renown children's book author Sara Pennypacker to Washington.  Ms. Pennypacker spent the day at Washington, speaking in small groups about her books and doing larger presentations to Second, Third and Fourth Graders.  At the end of her presentations, Ms. Pennypacker, signed copies of her "Clementine," "Flat Stanley," and "Stuart" books for the students.  It was a great day to meet the author and find out what it takes to write a successful book!  Ms. Pennypacker likes "to chat with children about what they like about books."  She also told the students that "Writing a book is like having a very slow conversation."  Thanks to Mrs. Meyers, our Librarian, for bringing this special program to Washington!
