District Named A Wellness Champion
The Bethel Park School District was one of 24 Allegheny County School Districts that was named a Wellness Champion by the Allegheny County Schools Health Insurance Consortium.
The District earned this distinction because more than 50 percent of BPSD employees who are covered under the District's health insurance went online and registered to be a Wellness Champion. Every employee who registered to be a Wellness Champion received a $100 Giant Eagle gift card.
As a Wellness Champion, the District was recognized at the Allegheny Intermediate Unit's annual convention and was presented with a plaque and a check for $5,000, which will be used to fund future District wellness issues.
Accepting on behalf of the District were Wellness Coordinator Mary Gallagher and Food Service Director Joe Consolmagno, who serves as the Chair of the District's Wellness Committee. Also attending the presentation were Superintendent Dr. Joseph W. Pasquerilla and School Directors Donna Cook, Russ Spicuzza and Cindy Buckley.
