Second grade students in Miss Manganello’s classroom enjoy reading and through their Wonders language arts curriculum they are not only improving their reading skills, but they are also learning how to utilize their writing skills to demonstrate their comprehension of what they just read.
Students are encouraged to read independently whenever they have free time in the classroom and it is not unusual to see students sitting quietly at their desks with a good book in front of them.
Miss Manganello has a book table at the back of her classroom that contains additional reading materials about things the students are learning about in her classroom. For example, the book table recently had books about Rome and animals.
She is especially impressed with her students’ reading skills and their interest in reading chapter books. Please click here
