Kindergarten Students Thank Local Veterans
Students sing for the Veterans
Franklin Kindergarten students invited Veterans in their families to join them for a special thank-you Veterans Day celebration!

Ten Veterans were able to attend and they were treated to a special program, which included the Pledge of Allegiance, the National Anthem and other patriotic songs performed by the students.  Students shook the veterans' hands and thanked them for their service.  The veterans also helped the students with some Veteran's Day-themed crafts before enjoying some red, white and blue treats together.

Students who had a veteran in their family but was unable to attend, were able to bring a photo of their family member and share with their classmates who their special veteran is and in what branch of the military they served.  The veterans who attended had the opportunity to share their stories with the students as well.

This was the first year for this program, and it looks like it could become an annual Franklin tradition.   Please click here to see some photos from the afternoon program.
