Reading With The Stars

Franklin students welcomed 16 guest readers and two dogs to their school for the annual Reading with the Stars!

This annual guest reader program is held in conjunction with Read Across America Day.  The PTO invites local celebrities to visit Franklin classrooms to not only read to the students, but to also share their love of reading with the students and talk to them about what they do, to get them thinking about their futures as well as activities they might like to pursue.

Some of this year's Star Readers included bakers Deidre Cannon and John Walsh, police officer Joelle Dixon, WPXI reporter Cara Sapida, dentist Dr. Renee Stewart and BPHS Orchestra members Thomas Worcester and Vincent Vituccio.  Students also welcomed two rescue dogs who were dressed as Dr. Seuss characters for the occasion!

Thank you to all of our readers, who so generously shared their time and love of reading with the Franklin students!  Please click here to see some photos from this year's Reading with the Stars!
