BPHS Students Earn 12 Awards At DECA International Conference

Bethel Park High School students earned 12 awards at the DECA International Career Development Conference in Atlanta, GA, including one Top 20 Finalist and 11 Awards of Excellence.

      
Senior Greydon Tomkowitz was named one of the Top 20 Finalists in the Human Resources Management event and also earned an Award of Excellence for meeting all standards of performance in his event.
      
Also earning Awards of Excellence were seniors Paige Davidson and Valerie Wengryn (Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making), Samantha Dunn (Quick Serve Restaurant Management), Chelsea Hallman (Entrepreneurship), Audra Kozlowski (Start-Up Business Plan), Rachel Gilliam and sophomore Sarah Gilliam (Advertising Campaign); Tammy Stugan and juniors Dalton Moore and Tim Nuss (Creative Marketing Plan); juniors Diana Brueggman (Business Growth Plan), Lance Chorney and Alex Duguid (Sports and Entertainment Promotion Plan, Sami Huwe and Brenna Manko (Community Service Project), and sophomore Brian Torles (Principles of Business Administration).
 
Over 19,000 students participated in this year’s Conference, representing 50 states and 10 countries.  The students competed against 200 other individuals or teams in each event.
      
The students were prepared for this competition by Bethel Park High School Marketing Teachers Emily Smoller, Maria Christenson, Linda Broderick and Karrie Kinzel.
