The Bethel Park School District received a $700 grant from the United Way of Allegheny County in support of the Hi5! Transition to Kindergarten Grant, as well as a matching buy one/get one book offer from Scholastic, which enabled the School District to purchase books for all incoming Kindergarten students.

The books will be distributed to all incoming Kindergarten students during Kindergarten Orientations that will be held during the month of May at all Bethel Park elementary schools.

The initial grant was written by Bethel Park Director of Elementary Education Dr. Dorothy Stark and the Scholastic offer was obtained by Washington Elementary School Librarian Rebecca Minella.
