BPHS Students Make Pillowcases For Pittsburgh Cancer Center

← Back Print This Article

Students in Ms. Potts' Clothing Construction and Tailoring Class made pillowcases for the Pittsburgh Cancer Center.

The students participated in this project as part of American Patchwork & Quilting's "1 Million Pillowcase Challenge."

Junior Alaina Cerro wrote a grant and submitted it to the BPHS Student Government Association for funding and received $250 to purchase the materials for the pillowcases.

In class, the students made patterns for their reversible pillowcases. They did a fantastic job!

Ms. Potts donated the completed pillowcases at the Pittsburgh Knit & Crochet & Creative Arts Festival for distribution to patients at the Pittsburgh Cancer Center.

Working on the Pillowcase Project were students Kendal Allsopp, Alaina Cerro, Azalynn Coblentz, Lainey Drahusz, Sami Dunn, Brandon Furniss, Katelyn Gobbie, Hannah Hutton, Ellie McGregor, Daryn Perry, Hayley Ruffing, Sam Sharp, Joanna White and Katie Zoldos.
