Applications are now being accepted for the Allegheny Intermediate Unit's Apprenticeship Program for the 2017-2018 school year, The deadline to apply is Friday, May 26.
Students who will be in grades 9-12 during the 2017-2018 school year are encouraged to apply for this opportunity to gain some hands-on experience with local professionals. Students may only apply for two apprenticeships. If they are not selected for their first choice, they will then be considered for their second choice. The cost to apply is $75 for each apprenticeship. Students who are not selected will have their check returned to them. Students will be notified of acceptance by June 30.
There are 31 internships available in fields such as acting, broadcast journalism, conducting, digital photography, engineering, filmmaking, graphic design, international affairs, journalism, leadership, marine biology, opera, robotics, screenwriting, nursing and zoo animal care, to name a few.
