Franklin First Graders in Mrs. Clancy’s room got into the Halloween spirit by making some Boo Belly Brew.
The students had to decide what ingredients to put into their brew—including bat wings, toes, teeth, tails and jelly beans—and they colored their ingredients before gluing them to a paper cauldron.
Once they completed their artwork, they wrote a recipe for their brew as well as a short narrative to describe what happened to the brew when the ingredients were added. The students also learned how to use quotation marks, as they also wrote about what they said when they tasted their Boo Belly Brew.
We’re guessing these spooky concoctions were described by the students as, “Delicious!”
