Students Make Gingerbread Houses For PPG Place Holiday Exhibit

← Back Print This Article

The Independence Middle School students who are in the SOAR Class did a great job of designing and making six beautiful gingerbread houses that will be a part of the holiday exhibit at the PPG Place Wintergarden.  If you're downtown, please stop down and see it!

The students worked with their mentors to put together these delicious looking creations! The students did a phenomenal job with their ideas, to create a snow globe, log cabin, candy castle, chalet and ice skating pond out of edible materials.

Special thanks goes to the Family and Consumer Science students for helping to bake the cookies that were included in the projects, as well as the Technology Education Department and the Art Department for assistance with supplies.

The final products are stunning!  Please click here to see some photos.  The students will have the opportunity to travel downtown together once the exhibit is up and running to not only see their entries, but to also enjoy the entire exhibit.
