Bethel Park School District

Second Graders Shop and Share

Lincoln Second Graders concluded their Math unit on money by participating in an activity called "Shop and Share."  Students were asked to bring non-perishable food items to school and they were given $1 in play money (coins) to shop and purchase as many food items as they could for their $1.  At the conclusion of the activity, the food was donated to the South Hills Interfaith Ministries for distribution to needy families in the area.  Other activities connected with Shop and Share included Money BINGO and drawing posters depicting all of the things the students are thankful for.

This first group of photos shows the students shopping for non-perishable food items.

While one group of students was shopping, another group was playing Money BINGO.

Students had a great time designing their own posters, depicting all of the things they are thankful for this Thanksgiving.
