Lincoln Celebrates National Library Week

The theme for this year's National Library Week was "Happily Ever After in the Library" and the week was filled with some happy activities, such as Costume Day, where staff and students dressed as their favorite fairy tale character.  Other activities included making bookmarks and decorating classroom doors.  The week culminated with a great assembly featuring staff and teachers in the roles of their favorite fairy tale character in an entertaining play!  Students also had the chance to find books containing "enchanted bookmarks," that earned them extra tickets for the upcoming Accelerated Reader Carnival.  During the week, the students read over 1,500 minutes, which resulted in Mrs. Paz looking for her prince by kissing the new library frog!  Yuck!

Little Red Riding Hood reads to the students.

The classroom doors look great!

Students find the "Enchanted Bookmarks!"

It's great to dress up!

The Lincoln staff did a great job with the play!
